SCOR Global Life announces the combination of its Global Markets and Client Solutions teams under one leadership structure, with the following appointments.

David O’Brien is promoted to Deputy Head of Global Markets and Head of Client Relationships, SCOR Global Life.
Formerly the Group Head of Financial Solutions and Longevity, David retains responsibility for these product lines but will now expand his responsibilities to cover client relationships across SCOR Global Life, ensuring the SCOR Global Life strategy reflects the needs of our clients. David is based in London and reports to Brona Magee, Deputy CEO and Head of Global Markets, SCOR Global Life.
Christopher Smith is appointed Head of Global Financial Solutions, SCOR Global Life
After seven years in Group Finance where he led Corporate Finance and Treasury, Chris will lead our Financial Solutions product line strategy globally, focusing on strategy, execution and capital and liquidity optimization. Under Chris’s leadership, we look forward to continued growth of this important line of business. Chris is based in London and reports to David O’Brien.
Barthélemy Philippe expands his role to Head of Client Solutions, SCOR Global Life
Barth will expand his focus to all solutions that we can develop for our clients, focused on all stages of the consumer journey. Barth retains his current responsibilities for Health Solutions and now takes on additional responsibility for the development of new Propositions, working closely with our market teams. Barth is based in Paris and reports to Brona Magee.

Biographies
David O’Brien, an Irish citizen, is a fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries. He joined SCOR in 2011 with the acquisition of Transamerica Re. In 2013, he relocated to Singapore to lead SCOR Global Life’s Asia Pacific business. He moved to London in 2015 to become Head of Financial Solutions and Longevity for SCOR Global Life.
Christopher Smith, an American citizen, holds a degree in Finance & Accounting from Florida State University. He joined Transamerica Re in 2004, and SCOR in August 2011 upon its acquisition, where he was responsible for capital market solutions. In January 2012, he became Head of Group Corporate Finance for SCOR in Paris. Prior to SCOR, he held senior positions in private equity, investment banking and telecommunications.
Barthélemy Philippe, a French citizen, holds a degree from École Polytechnique and from the HEC School of Management. He previously was the General Manager and Chief Agent for SCOR Global Life Canada. He joined SCOR Global Life as Global Head of Strategy and Development in 2013. Prior to SCOR, he worked as a consultant for a global strategy firm, and as a Vice-President for a global Venture Capital fund.
