Sylvain has acquired broad international experience in Shipping and Marine Insurance/ Reinsurance over the past 25 years.

He is a former Captain and naval Engineer. He started his career at sea before working in the shipbuilding industry as an Engineer until 2006 when he joined ACA CS, first as a Marine Technical Advisor, then Marine Underwriter, and finally Marine Hull Chief Underwriting Officer. He joined SCOR in April 2015 as Head of Offshore Energy for SBS. In January 2017, he launched the Marine LoB for SCOR Business Solutions, acting as Global Head of Marine. Since January 2019, he has been CUO for Marine & Energy at SCOR P&C. He is based in Zurich.
