Prior to his promotion in 2020, Spencer served as Group Compliance Officer responsible for all global compliance activities of SCOR and its subsidiaries. This includes proactive development, implementation and execution of of Group Guidelines and Policies, as well as establishment, operation and ownership of an effective and efficient compliance framework addressing relevant compliance risks of the Group as well as and other requirements dictated by various local jursidictions in which SCOR operates. Other roles at SCOR include Vice President - Deputy General Counsel and Vice President – Associate General Counsel. Prior to joining the company in 2002, Spencer was a litigator in private practice.

Spencer earned his Juris Doctor degree at the George Washington University Law School and his undergraduate degree in political science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
