Ecaterina Nisipasu and Marie Fayet were both winners at the French 2015 “Women in Insurance Awards”, organised by l’Argus de l’Assurance on 1 December in Paris.
Ecaterina Nisipasu, Head of the Actuarial Modelling department, won the “Best Actuary” award.
With a mathematical background, Ecaterina joined SCOR in 2001 and added to her training with an actuarial programme at the Centres d’Etudes Actuarielles. She quickly became noticed for her reliable and efficient management of particularly complex files on the North American P&C markets. She then took charge of the Group’s P&C reserving.
In 2010, she became the head of the Actuarial Modelling department, her principal mission being to prepare the Group with regard to the quantitative aspects of Solvency II. She was then charged with the sensitive and strategic mission of leading the team in charge of ensuring the validation of the SCOR group’s internal model. This mission was also an opportunity to manage a complex range of relationships, from underwriters to modellers, and from the Group’s Executive Committee to French and other regulatory authorities.
Marie Fayet, an energy underwriter at SCOR Global P&C, won the “Best Specialist” award.
In Paris, London and Dubai, whether working for Australian, French, American or Swiss companies, or on assignment at industrial sites in South Africa, India or Saudi Arabia, Marie Fayet’s professional background is impressive and resolutely atypical for an energy underwriter, and her dynamism and enthusiasm are infectious.
Marie made the oil sector her speciality at the beginning of the career. Her success in her various positions bears witness to her passion for the job, her strong professional commitment and her desire to develop new markets by pushing back limits. Her dual training in engineering and management, as well as her international experience, have enabled her to carve out a well-deserved position in an essentially male world.
