SCOR Global P&C announces the below changes to its P&C Ventures team to optimize the value delivered to SCOR and its portfolio companies

 

Adrian Jones, who until recently was Head of Strategy & Business Development, is now fully focused on leading Ventures & Strategic Partnerships in the P&C division. He is based in Paris.

 

Will Thorne, previously Innovation Leader at SCOR's Channel Syndicate, is now leading P&C Ventures in EMEA, at Lloyd’s, and for Specialty lines. He maintains responsibility for Channel’s Innovation Team, focused on product innovation and InsurTech underwriting partnerships at Lloyd’s. He is based in London. 

 

Pierre Favennec, formerly Deputy Head of Strategy & Business Development in the P&C division, assumed full responsibility for that department on April 1. He continues to be active in P&C Ventures & strategic partnerships, particularly in EMEA with a focus on French-speaking markets. Pierre is based in Paris.

 

Will Bird has joined SCOR P&C Ventures as an Associate and will support Ventures activity primarily in the Americas. He is based in Chicago.

 

P&C Ventures is the entry point for product and technological innovators and distributors, whether seeking partnerships or looking to offer their services or platforms. The team works closely with SCOR’s core business across all major geographies and functional areas, enabling rapid transfers of information and decision-making.

Biographies

 

Adrian Jones, an American citizen, is a graduate of Columbia (MBA) and Wharton (BSEc). He joined the insurance industry at Bain & Company, where he spent nine years as a consultant in the U.S. and Europe. From 2010 to 2016, he was Head of Strategy at RenaissanceRe Holdings Ltd, based in Bermuda. He founded SCOR P&C Ventures and is responsible for P&C InsurTech. He sits on three start-up Boards in three different countries. He regularly writes and speaks about InsurTech and partnerships with incumbents, both internally within SCOR and externally

 

Will Thorne, a British citizen, founded P&C Ventures with Adrian Jones. He has led multiple P&C Ventures investments and is involved in a number of global insurtech initiatives, including chairing the UK Treasury / Tech Nation Insurtech Board. 

 

Pierre Favennec, a French citizen, is a graduate of the Ecole Centrale Paris and the University of Chicago Booth School of Business (MBA). He started his career in strategy consulting at Booz Allen in Paris. He then joined the investment banking M&A teams of Goldman Sachs and Nomura in London, focusing on financial institutions. In 2017, he joined SCOR Global P&C as Head of Business Development.

 

Will Bird, an American citizen, was previously part of the ventures and strategy units of a large primary personal lines insurer in the U.S. Will is currently pursuing an MBA at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
